After living in my home for 29 years, I found a new nest in Riderwood. It was a daunting task to complete this task between Jan. 30 and April 7. But I did — give or take a few kerfluffles.
While focusing on custom cabinets and shelving, I overlooked the most obvious need, window coverings!
I called Riderwood to discuss window installations. They agreed to install temporary coverings until I could contact a recommended local company.
I knew when Sam Kugle answered his phone on a Friday afternoon that I was in good hands, which was confirmed when I walked into his store and actually shook his hand on Monday morning. I met a special man.
Sam knows the Riderwood properties, but he had wanted to see and meet me, to know what I needed. It was an interview without being an interview. Sam doesn’t just recommend window coverings; he matches physical size, strength, mobility and personality to a product that will serve me for many years, a product I will love!
And I do love my window coverings. Sam’s entire staff is just like Sam... personable, knowledgeable, efficient and take pride in their work.
As a note; I will be going back to explore Sam’s store full of treasures, that reminded me of shopping in single owner neighborhood stores in 1950-60s in Newark, NJ.
